Keeping your Lips Luscious in the Harsh Winter Months

Keeping your Lips Luscious in the Harsh Winter Months

Our skin is always exposed to the environment, and lips are among the top three most exposed!

The thin skin from our lips is very vulnerable to:

  • Ice
  • Snow abrasion
  • Lip licking
  • Sun damage

Our February product “treats” will protect your lips in the high incident of pre-cancerous and actual skin cancer of the lips. Point being, we all need to be proactive in using lip products that are skin protective and seek medical help with any chronic ally sore or persistent spot.

Do your lips look and feel like a dry river bed? Our February specials will change them to rose pedals.

SkinCeuticals Antioxidant Lip Repair used twice daily will help restore your winter dry and/or aging lips. Also ColoreScience and Jane IreDale lip products contain the always necessary sun screen ingredients and should be applied multiple times. These products would make thoughtful Valentine gifts to your significant other!

There are three main treatments available once you start noticing lines in the skin around the mouth. These lines are due to sun exposure, but primarily due to bone loss associated with aging. The 3 main treatments are:

  • Botox/Xeoman strategically place to lessen the muscle power. You can decrease using straws and whistling but it’s always important to keep kissing!
  • Skin rejuvenation via a series of fractionated CO2 laser or microneedling treatment.
  • Fillers which include the new favorite Belotero. It can be injected just under the lines and then “puddle” out to eliminate or soften the depth of the lines.

I am happy to exam your skin and explain these various choices as they apply to your history and clinical situation. I am in the Clinic February 9th – 13th and 23rd- 27th.
